Good therapy begins with a warm and trusting relationship.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, families and couples. My counseling style is rich with interactive feedback, honest and compassionate. I am often told that my down-to-earth professionalism creates a safe and accepting atmosphere. I also strive to make every session rich with as many "take aways" (insights, tools, etc.) as possible. I also find humor has its role in healing as well. Life is serious business and sometimes we just need a little laugh and lightheartedness.

I completed my B.A. in Psychology at The University of Maryland and my M.S. in Counseling at The Johns Hopkins University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a professional member of the American Counseling Association and the EMDR Institute. My experience includes work as a primary therapist at The Meadows, a world-renowned center for the treatment of trauma, relational issues, addictions and codependence. While at The Meadows, I received direct training from The Meadows Senior Fellows in the specialized treatment of trauma and sexual compulsivity. I use a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and EMDR Therapy, however, I focus on the specific needs of each client and tailor my approach accordingly.
