Good therapy begins with a warm and trusting relationship.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, families and couples. My counseling style is interactive, honest and compassionate. I am often told that my down-to-earth professionalism creates a safe and accepting atmosphere. I also strive to make every session rich with as many "take aways" (insights, tools, etc.) as possible. Life is serious business and change is hard work. However, there is room for laughter in therapy too.
I have immense gratitude for my academic and professional experiences, as well as for the mentors along the way. I completed my B.A. in Psychology at The University of Maryland and my M.S. in Counseling at The Johns Hopkins University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a professional member of the American Counseling Association and the EMDR Institute. My experience includes work as a primary therapist at The Meadows, a world-renowned center for the treatment of trauma, relational issues, addictions and codependence. While at The Meadows, I received direct training from The Meadows Senior Fellows in the specialized treatment of trauma and sexual compulsivity. I use a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and EMDR Therapy, however, I focus on the specific needs of each client and tailor my approach accordingly.
